When the planes hit the World Trade Centre towers, many raised the question, why do the terrorists hate the USA so? Many people were offended by this question. The mirror should be placed back on societies that spawn such hate filled individuals, they argued. Follow the Bali bomber trial to see individuals driven by hatred, ignorance, arrogance, bigotry, dogmatism, naivete etc, they argue.

The attacks on the World Trade Center has been made by the Al Qaeda.
The Head of Al Qaeda is Osama Bin Laden. While the CIA supported him during the 1980s with weapons and tactics for his guerillia war in Afgahnistan, he became the most hunted man in the History of the CIA with more than 7.000 CIA agents included after September 11 in 2001.
Today it is not sure if he is still alive or he already died by bomb attacks. Other high members of the Al Qaeda are or were: Khalid Scheich Mohammed, Abu Faradsch al-Libi, Yasir al-Dschaziri and Aiman az-Zawahiri.

The goals of the Al Qaeda are:
    1. The destruction of Israel
    2. The overthrow of the Saudi-Arabian royal government
    3. The reunion of all muslimes under one big emperor called the Caliph
    4. The overthrow of all governments, which don’t act after their principes espacially the arabic states.
    5. The attack of the United States of America and fairly long-term the west countries.

Terrorist Profile-Terrorists aren’t from a specific race, religion or country nor are they all terrorists for the same reason. Some terrorists act for revenge against oppressors and revenge for past injustices they might have suffered. The vast majority of terrorists commit their crimes to achieve a political aim or goal and to force these goals upon a race or nation. Generally these acts are committed in a violent manner.

    1) Generally speaking, as many acts of terror are motivated by differant occurances, the main consensus is for political, social, and geographic advantages in a power grasp. Behind terrorism exists many factors including hardships endured for example black semptember who ‘hit back’ against Israel after their mistreatment.

2)The United States is a ultimatly a target as it is the current ’super power’ of the world and has an overall influence on the rest of the worlds way of life. The 20th century is often refered to in historical terms as the American century due to its rapid growth and control throughout world markets and events. The US is targeted due to this struggle for power with many believing the US has to much control over the rest of the world. An example of this is the now ‘invasion’ of Iraq initiated by US governments in a bid to ‘free’ the Iraqi people of their tyrant leader and remove the weapons of mass destruction. This was done without UN approval showing the US’s ignorance to the views that differ from theirs. It is now evident the war was waged under a false premisis and clearly a bid to gain politcal and monetary advantage through the control of Iraq’s oil.

Terrorists are people with extremist views on life. Quite often this is a strong ideological belief being religion based or political based. Other terrorists just hate the way a particular group lives like the people who bombed the world trade centres hated Americans, and the western world.
A great majority of terrorist groups are Islamism. The majority of these groups goals are to fight to gain supremacy for their religion and gain power in politics, or just because they don’t like someone. They use force in the form of bombing, hijacking, kidnapping and executing.
Incidents include, world trade centre attack in 2001 may I need say more.
The Irish republican army are a nationalist group who fought against the British for independence in 1919. this was there main reason for being. Other incidents include the Irish civil war

Terrorism is usually a form of political vengeance or attack. On September 11 in 2001, two world trade centres were hit my high jacked commercial airline planes. The USA is most commonly at the centre of a lot of protest in the rest of the world and they seem to be a hated country in the eyes of many. I believe this hatred is centred on its superior power and how the US attempts to interfere with events that do not concern them.
Terrorist organizations typically aim at certain minorities for a political reason. I believe they hope to achieve panic in the nation, which in turn will give them a chance to achieve what they would like.

The planes hit the USA because this was a message to tell the Americans to forget all about the Iraqis and all their done and leave them and their country alone and just defend their own country and not attack iraq.

*Black September- was a Palestinian militant group. They wanted revenge on king Hussein and the Jordanian army.

*Black hand- was an under ground Islamist militant organization. They targeted jewish civilians in northern Palestine because they based their violence on religious grounds.

Terrorists often believe that they have made all attempts at a legitimate religious or political change and have no other way tto bring recognition to their cause for the society they live in. Terrorist believe it is there only way to get the people to rise up agaist the government.
Terrorists hate the Americans so much because they are arrogant and they live in a perfect world.

    List of terrorist-

Abu Sayyaf- islamic group looking to get there on centralized country in the southern part of the philippines.

Al Qaeda- Establish a pan-Islamic Caliphate throughout the world by working with allied Islamic extremist groups to overthrow regimes it deems “non-Islamic,” and expelling Westerners and non-Muslims from Muslim countries.

National Liberation Army (ELN)—Colombia-Replacing the current government with a Marxist regime.

Terrorists are individuals or members of a group or organization that deny people from their rights as humans through the use of violence or fear. Combat 18 is an example of a neo-nazi terrorist organization.
Terrorists have goals generally relevant to their religious beliefs, political beliefs or their understanding of their rights. The Black September terrorists that took Israeli hostages at the Munich Olympics had a goal to get over 200 of their members released from by the Israeli government.
I know of the 1972 Munich Olympic terrorist attack, the World trade centre terrorist attacks, one attack in 1993 and the other in 2001, the Bali bombings and the Russian school attack.

Terrorists are individuals/ groups that have a motive to create chaos and disorder. There reason can be varied but no matter what the motif there goals are clear; create chaos, disorder and deny basic human rights through there instigation of violence and fear. One terrorist attack that I can recall is the bail bombings, this was committed by Jemaah Islamiah this was sparked by their hatred for the western world. Their blind hatred and arrogance is reflected through the terrorist attacks designed mostly to create fear but also to push there religious views on the rest of the world.

  •   Alex // May 17th 2007 at 11:51 am

Terrorist groups are organisations that look to create change through intimidation and fear. I think they are often groups that are either too small, linked only by an ideal or without sufficent authority to affect their aims of change through official means. They attract people who have lost faith in governance and negotiation, and see violence as the only way forward, or violence as just retaliation.
The US are a prime target for attacks from the disillusioned people of the world. This is not just to because they are “jealous” of the American way of life, nor becuase they simply hate the US. It is because of an inherent inbalance in the welfare and rights of people aound the world, both social, political and religious. America’s attitude does not help their cause either, imperialist actions around the world, milking resources and building military bases in a person’s backyard does not make them willing to help.
    Terrorist incidents include:
Bali bombings, NY World Trade Centres, USS Cole near Yemen, Australian embassy in Jakarta.

    Terrorism profile
    1. In most cases the main reasons behind terrorism is oppression and jealousy. Especially in the case of attacks against the west, which is whom most terrorist attacks are against.
    2. These people in these backward cultures hate the U.S. and the west with every thing in their body, they are taught to hate the U.S. by their elders and by their society. The question is why their society hates the west so much. Simply, the west has a history of oppressing and taking advantage of developing countries.
    3. The KLA is a group of Albanian freedom fighters that fought for the independence of an Albanian ethnic territory. The Yugoslavs wanted a singular Yugoslav country in the Balkans and started an ethnic cleansing operation, which hit a snag in the area of Kosovo and eventually culminated in the bloody siege of Sarajevo.
    4. The goal of the KLA was to deliver Kosovo, mainly an ethnic Albanian territory, into the Albanian fold for when they became independent like Croatia.
    5. LIST:
    WTC bombing
    Sari club
    Munich
    London Metro
    Bezlan school massacre
    Moscow theatre
    Rainbow Warrior

Cultural imperialism is the practice of promoting, distinguishing, separating, or artificially injecting the culture or language of one nation into another. For eg how the US has westernized many countries around the world.

Terrorists are groups or organizations that attack people, places and cultures in general. There are many motives behind terrorists and the acts they commit. Mainly to achieve a political goal or to prove a point to the society they attack. The 9/11 attacks sent fear through the minds of many other countries, not only the US. From that day on people became ‘aware not alarmed’.
    Terror attacks:
    9/11
    Various hotel bombings (Middle East)
    Madrid train bombings
    Jakarta Australia Embassy bombing
    London bombings
    Bali bombings
    Delhi bombings
    Mumbai train bombings
    Lebanon war (Hezbollah)
    Algiers bombings

The groups involved in the above terror attacks are all of Islamic background and with one objective, Islamic supremacy.

Terrorist groups aren’t from any selected area nor are they characterised by a certain profile. Terrorist groups are groups of people who perform violence and corruption against people and organizations based generally on political and religious reasons. Their goals are to intimidate people and make people do thngs against their will in order for them to get their way. Some terrorist attacks that are well know is the attack on the world trade centre in America on September 11. This attack resulted and thousands of people dead and thousands injured. Another recent terrorist attacks is the Bali bombing which lead to many Australians being killed and many tourists.
