For Hitler to rise to power significant social, economic and political changes had to be made. When Hitler first ran for parliament in 1928 the Weimar republic was flourishing, people were content with their lot if life and thus Hitler’s call for drastic changes went unnoticed as he only gained 2.3% of the votes. Though over then next four years, as Germany was plunged into depression, much of the populaces’ opinions were changed. AS they struggled to survive they began to see that this democracy was not working, Hitler encouraged this idea saying that it was ‘un-German’ to have multiple political parties.

Hitler’s rise to power in 1933 was due to long term factors. These factors include the resentment in the German people, the weakness of the Weimar system- which he exploited through propaganda, Stormtroopers terrorizing the community and the radiance of his speeches.
During the so called roaring twenties, the German people ignored Hitler and his programme of hatred. But during the great depression, lives of the German people changed and Hitler then gained increasing support. Then in 1933 President Hindenburg made the fatal mistake of making Hitler chancellor.

Hitler came to power in Germany becasue of a number of factors. The most important one was the influence of the the Great Depression and the subsequent collapse of the German banking system on the mood of the German people. The population did not want the hard times to continue, and wanted to see the return of a powerful Germany in world politics.
The second important factor was the backing teh Nazi party got from significant members of the business community in Germany. For these influential men, a Nazi government was infinetely more preferable than a Communist revolution. Additonally, a government report stated that the German Army would be unable to contain and uprising from both the Storm Troopers and the Communists while keeping Germany’s borders secure.

Hitler rose to power through the fate of circumstance. He had not changed his polices since his first speeches during the 1920s, so why then did he come to power by 1933? The German economy yet again went through times of instability in the late 1920s and early 1930s. A world recession lead to country becoming economically bankrupt and on the verge of collapse. To aid this 5 of Germany’s largest banks collapsed. Causing widespread brankrucy not only in the lower class but also now affecting the middle class as well. Germany was hit the hardest by this global resection (a warning from history) and unemployment levels had reached almost 6 million.
So it was not that Hitler changed dramatically during these years he still preached that Verillse was a crime, Jew’s should be expelled from the country and democracy doesn’t work. However now the German people were ready to listen to Hitler (a warning from history) So he capitalised on these terms of instability and the German public was ready to here and to vote with them voting 37% of the country voting for this radical party.
